Luxury Villa near Porto Heli, Peloponnese
Sea-View, Infinity-Pool, Outdoor Kitchen
Property ID: PELPH3
Our personal review of this villa:
The Area
Since hardly anyone outside Greece knows about Porto Heli and Kosta, it is worth pointing out a few things related to the location. For many years, the area was simply another beautiful spot along the picturesque coastline of the Peleponnese. Kosta is the port opposite Spetses island and therefore frequented by tourists and locals on their way to Spetses. Also the traffic free island Hydra is only a short boat ride away.
Some years ago, a few very wealthy people decided to buy land and build some stunning villas in the area and soon the dormant area became a top location for Greeks with money. The proximity to Athens, the islands and unspoiled coastline, the pine forests and high mountains but also the numerous ancient places richly steeped in history, make this area an attractive holiday location. No matter what you are looking for, you will find it here. Excursions by boat to Hydra, Spetses, Poros or Monemvassia or by car to Epidavros, Nafplion & Mycenae are just some of the highlights for those that like to take a stroll through history. The unspoiled mountains of endless pine forests, pristine coastline and sandy beaches will excite nature lovers and the shops and high quality restaurants as well as cafés and bars along the marina of Porto Heli will pamper those who enjoy their evenings strolling along the marina where the sailing yachts are lined up like pearls.
From Athens (Piraeus) to the villa the ferry (hydrofoil) takes 2.5 hours. By car, if you wish to rent a car at Athens International Airport, it will take you just a few minutes more.
The Villa
The villa turns away from all the hustle and bustle and focusses on the beauty and serenity of nature. Uninterrupted views over the beautiful and well maintained garden, the surrounding greens and scattered pine trees and the sea in the distance is only one of the highlights of this villa. The owner of the villa is an artist who proves his talent in every detail of the villa. Every choice of colour, every piece of furniture and every facility is in the right place and blends in perfectly to produce a warm but tidy appearance. In fact, the villa's interior seems to be a continuation of the art work found in the villa as everything blends in so well and reflects total harmony.

Having said that, you probably won't get to see the interior very much as you will spend most of the day outdoors. The large veranda with the large infinity pool (width: 14m length: 5.30m maximum depth: 2.8m) and pool bar are just too captivating to be inside. The pool bar is actually an entire outdoor kitchen with full scale barbeque, fridge, sink and everything else you need to prepare a good meal - mind you - with sea view!!
The 3 bedrooms of the villa are on the ground floor of the villa which is underground to the hill side but large french doors provide sea view from the bed. This design guarantees cool temperatures for a rejuvenating sleep and makes the existing air-conditioning fairly unnecessary. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and they are all very spacious.
The Studio
A studio with a double bed, kitchenette and small living-area is also part of the villa and can be used for live-in staff or accompanying guests that like to have their own private space. Compared to the rest of the villa, which is of outstanding beauty, the studio is not the most impressive but of course it is absolutely tidy and functional. It is, for example, perfect if you wish to bring your babysitter along.
The Hospitality
Since the owner of the villa lives abroad, his sister who owns 2 villas some 3 minutes drive away, takes care of the guests. She is a warm hearted lady that speaks fluent English and will truly make sure that no wish remains unfulfilled. If what you need on arrival is not there when you enter the villa, she will be back in a few minutes to give it to you. Milk for the baby? A cold beer? Some additional sheets? A freshly baked cake for your arrival? Whatever you may need, it will be there. And when you don't need her she seems to vanish from the planet and you are left with a privacy that is elsewhere hard to find.
Facilities
The villa offers just about anything you may need including: Wireless broadband Internet, Phone, Sat-TV, HiFi, remote controlled gates and on-property parking, etc. Please see the fact-sheet for more details.
