Marisa's Windmill in Koundouros - Kea
This stone-built windmill is one of the oldest in the area, enjoying one of the most advantageous positions in the famous beach resort of Koundouros in Kea, on top of small hill. The windmill offers a sweeping, 180 degree, south-west view of Koundouros and its bays which you can enjoy from the various sitting areas in the large garden or on your upstairs private patio. Some of Kea's most beautiful beaches are less than 10 minutes away. A car is necessary but anyhow suggested to discover the beautiful island.
The windmill is split in three levels:
- Ground floor: entrance from garden level sitting area, sitting area/two single (round!) beds (orange in pictures).
- First floor: up the narrow internal staircase, we find the level 2 bedroom with two single (round!) beds (blue in pictures), a small functional kitchen with fridge, small bathroom (!!) and access to the outside patio which is an ideal spot to watch the sunset or for long drinking nights gazing at the stary clear sky in privacy.
- Second floor: the master bedroom with a double bed and small WC. A hatch isolates the 3rd level form the 2nd.
Though the windmill does not offer utmost privacy between guests, it is surely the most authentic type of accommodation you can find on Kea. The view, position and Marisa's hospitality guarantee a memorable vacation. If you also get her to cook for you, you are in for a real treat. Her Mediterranean cuisine is legendary on the island.
