Traditional Townhouse in Ioulis (Hora), Cyclades Island Kea - Greece
It is rare to find this quality of restauration and authenticity that this Aegean accommodation offers: the owner has gone to great extents to refurbish antique items - many of which were found in the original house - and to restore this 100+ year old house as close as possible to its original state (plus modern amenities).
The house itself is a hop away from the main town square where one can find restaurants, a super market, bakery, museum, cafes, shops, etc. The parking lot is 200 meters away (downhill one way...).
The house is split in three levels:
- on the street level, we find the "guest house", a separate large room with a loft bedroom (one double bed), a separate bathroom and a sitting/sleeping area for another 2 children. The "guest house" has a separate entrance and does not communicate witht the main property other than from the cobblestone road and main entrance of he house. The guesthouse is available after June 08.
- The middle level features the main entrance, a large living room with fireplace, ensuite under the arch, a fully equipped kitchen, a sleeping are next to the kitchen with two single beds, a small balcony and a WC.
- You reach the top level through a wooden staircase and hatch that gives the bedroom privacy. There you find the masterbedroom (one double-bed) with a bathroom, plus access to a large protected open air yard and a patio with a breathtaking view of the horizon.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Reaching this house involves a 10-15 minute uphill walk from the Ioulis parking lot. Vehicles are not allowed for non-commercial use in the traditional settlement of Ioulis. This house is NOT accessible by car.
