Eva's Windmill - Kea
This is an original Kean windmill on top of a hill, converted to a home by Greek-Australian artist Eva G., with sweeping 180 degree view of both Poisses and Koundouros bays and quite often even the winds will sweep you off your feet. This is as original Greek as it gets!
The building where the guest apartment is the body of an old mill (hence circular). In its base, there is a kitchen, bathroom, sitting area inside and you get to use ample outside sitting areas too.
In the base of the mill is the bathroom, kitchen and small living room. The single bedroom with two built in single beds is upstairs and is connected via an external -challenging to the overweight- staircase. For some, it may be challenging to tackle a middle of the night bathroom visit, notably if you have had an ouzo or two in excess.
Outside there is a southward facing private sitting table & area, sheltered form the norhern winds.
Adjacent to the mill is Eva's house and studio. Eva is a bubbly character, always ready to accommodate and chat, offering genuine Greek hospitality, sharing with guests even part of her own quarters. She is certainly an integral part of the decor, making it a truly memorable vacation.
You need a car to get to the mill and to restaurants or shops from it. Though strategically located and not too far from beaches, the car (or off-road motorbike!) is a must.
